General Admission Requirements: Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD); a minimum of six Grade 12 4U or 4M courses, including program specific prerequisites with a minimum 70% overall final average, and ENG 4U with a minimum of 60%.

Admission Requirements Outside of Canada

    • American Students

A minimum 'B' average (85% or 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale) in a recognized academic grade 12 program with a minimum of 70% in grade 12 English. At least 4 different subjects at the matriculation level must be represented in the high school diploma. A combined SAT score of 1,650 or composite ACT score of 24 is required.

    • International Baccalaureate

Minimum overall score of 28, including three courses at the Higher level and three courses at the Standard level. A minimum grade of 5 in Higher or Standard level English is required.     

    • Advanced Placement

The Advanced Placement Program provides motivated students with the opportunity to take some university-level courses while still in high school. All applicants who have completed Advanced Placement courses from the College Board are required to submit their examination results for evaluation. Advanced standing or transfer credit will be granted for most Advanced Placement courses with examination grades of four (4) or better, to a maximum of 5.0 credits (one full year of study).

    • General Certificate of Education (GCE)

Minimum 'C' grade in 5 ordinary level subjects and two Advanced level subjects, or minimum 'C' grade in four ordinary level subjects and three Advanced level subjects. Two Advanced Subsidiary subjects may be substituted for one Advanced level subject. Minimum 'C' grade in English at the Ordinary or Advanced level is required.

 

NOTE: Applicants may be asked to complete an English Proficiency Test, to be determined at the discretion of Trent University.

Secondary students who have studied in an English-speaking school for less than three years full-time (excluding English as a Second Language programs) may be asked to complete an English Proficiency Test.
