New for 2012!
Thank you for your interest in our new Media Studies Program.
More than forty years ago, Marshall McLuhan famously quipped: "each of us lives several hundred years in a decade." Since then, the rate of technological change has exponentially increased. In the Media Studies program, we invite students into an inter-disciplinary engagement with the following complex questions: what happens to our concepts of community, memory, knowledge, the Individual, place, and time with each new media innovation? What does it mean to be "media literate" today? How do contemporary media environments work differently from those in the past, and to what effect?
