Coming from Secondary School
If you are coming from secondary school, starting in January gives you the opportunity to get ahead in your post-secondary studies. Students coming from secondary school must follow the
Secondary Student application process.
If you are a high achieving student still enrolled in high school in January, you may be eligible to enrol in a single course at Trent University. Upon completion you will have a Trent University credit, which will be put towards your degree. You will require formal approval from your school principal and the Dean of the academic department your course falls under.
Contact the admissions office at admissions@trentu.ca with any questions about applying from secondary school.
To find out what courses are available in winter term, please visit the Peterborough and Oshawa Academic Timetables.
Whether you are coming directly from another post-secondary institution or returning to Trent after a break, starting in January allows you to easily resume your studies. You may even be able to complete a full year by September.
Information on how to apply as a transfer student is outlined here.
To find out what courses are available in winter term, please visit the Peterborough and Oshawa Academic Timetables.
If you are coming to Trent from another post-secondary institution, your final transcripts might not be available until January. You will need to provide Trent with your in-progress grades in order to complete your application through OUAC.
If final transcripts are not available and your transfer credit evaluation is not completed until January, you may not be able to register in courses for which pre-requisites are required. In that case, you may contact the academic department of the course(s) you are interested in taking to discuss course registration. Once we receive your final transcript your transfer credits will be posted on your academic record, at which point you can register in your selected courses (provided you achieve the pre-requisites).
