In addition to our picturesque location and spacious natural environment, we offer well-equipped rooms for meetings,executive meetings and full conference sessions. Attractive and suitably-sized classrooms are available for your conference workshops and seminars. Less formal settings will be found in lounges, common rooms and similar areas. The university has five theatres, 50 seminar rooms and seven licensed lounges and dining lounge areas that can accommodate conferences of up to 800 delegates.

Technical and Support Resources

Secretarial services (word processing, dictation equipment and photocopying machines) may be engaged by your conference group. In addition, the university's own printing shop offers economical, professional and efficient printing services.

We can offer you theatres, lecture halls, small meeting rooms, relaxing lounges, pleasant dining rooms, and comfortable beds in both single and double accommodation. With a full range of audio-visual equipment, printing, duplicating, and secretarial services, together with an exceptional conference staff, we can make your next conference a memorable experience.

Food Services at Trent University

We know that good dining is essential to any successful conference. Trent University's conference operation offers a wide range of choices in this respect, ably supported by efficient staff and modern kitchens under the direction of Aramark. Together we can ensure a memorable eating experience for the university's guests.

Services offered include convenient cafeteria dining in halls within the college residence areas, coffee breaks anywhere - inside or out - facilities for luncheons and banquets and catering at other university locations.

You might already have heard about the wonderfully magnificent grandeur of our Great Hall dining facility in Champlain College! For special events, our chefs can present a delicious dining experience based upon the menu of your choice. Liquor and bar service is available at all licensed rooms on the campus. Let us know what you'd like, and we'd be pleased to suit the particular desires and needs of your organization.

An average conference lasts three days, opening with a reception and dinner, or alternatively a light evening meal, and ending with a luncheon. During a typical conference, the University's food service would be called upon to provide two breakfasts, two lunches, one dinner and one banquet.

Recreation Facilities

Don't forget to tell your delegates to pack their sports equipment! Trent's brand new athletic building, nestled by the Otonabee River, provides facilities for a diversified athletic and recreational program. These include a gymnasium, 25-metre pool, squash courts, exercise room, saunas, multi-purpose room, a climbing wall and locker facilities.

Nearby on campus is a full-sized, flood-lit playing field and a 400-metre all-weather track. And of course, our beautiful 580-hectare (1,400-acre) main campus and nature area provide a wealth of opportunities for walking, running, cycling, bird-watching or simply quiet meditation.
