Alumni Council
The Council is a group of volunteers - most of whom are elected - who are responsible for planning and implementing the Association's programs. It comprises a President or Co-Presidents, a Past-President, four Vice-Presidents, eleven Councillors, two Association representatives on the University's Board of Governors, one Association representative on the University's Senate and one student representative of University's students. The Council meets at least five times a year, usually in Peterborough or Toronto, and hosts an Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Association. All meetings are open to everyone in the Trent University Community. The council has a number of committees.
Governing the University
Alumni help to govern the University. Currently, about one-third of the Board of Governors are Trent Alumni, and two graduates have chaired the Board. Alumni also sit on the Senate and numerous university committees, such as Athletics Advisory, University Honours, Teaching Awards, Audit and Finance, Educational Development, and the University Foundation.
