Alumni House
Alumni House is the campus home of the Trent University Alumni Association and the Office of Alumni Affairs. This positive environment for staff, Alumni and visitors also provides a permanent home for the Alumni Association’s Hall of Fame and heritage collections and space to display art donated by Alumni and friends and other select pieces of Trent’s Fine Art Collection.
Alumni House has public space that is bookable for sit-down meals of groups up to 20 or casual buffets for up to 35 in the living room. The house provides meeting space for up to 45 people and the dining room will accommodate up to10 for meeting space. The Alumni Office has 25 folding chairs to supplement the ten dining room chairs and the fixed seating for twelve in the living room. Alumni House has a small interior courtyard, a larger enclosed yard and some patio space. Please note, individuals booking the facility are responsible for making their own arrangements for special configurations and food and beverage services. Certain group sizes can only be accommodated in certain configurations – Sylvia Hennessy can help by providing some guidelines.
- Please note: Aramark is the University’s Caterer and we recommend that you use their services – for internal bookings, you can contact Aramark directly at (705)748-1512 or aramark@trentu.ca.

- Please do not use any form of confetti inside or outside of Alumni House.
- Staff, faculty, alumni and external group pot-luck meals cannot be accommodated at Alumni House.
Alumni House - Information for External Caterers
- The caterer must post the company name and contact information near the food.
- Caterers must pay for parking or arrange to get a parking pass from the host department
- No dishes, cutlery, serving platters, glassware or linens are provided
- Caterers must remove the garbage and recycling
- Very limited cooking, reheating, refrigeration and freezer space is available
- The organizers will be provided with a key if requested and they are responsible for making arrangements to let caterers in and lock up after.

- You cannot provide your own food for any event at Alumni House.
- Alcohol can only be provided and served by Bar Services through the Trent Conference Centre.
- There are no dishes, glasses or cutlery provided.
- You must clean up after using Alumni House
- return the room to the original configuration if you move any furniture although we would really prefer that you do not move the furniture but use folding chairs instead
- take all papers, display materials and handouts
- leave absolutely no food or drink
- remove any garbage and/or recyclable material – In short, we ask that you leave the place as you found it!
- Housekeeping services are provided to keep the floors and bathrooms clean only.
- If additional housekeeping service needs to be called following your event, your department will be charged based on the hourly rate determined by Physical Resources to provide an individualized service.
Please note – when you use Aramark, they are aware that it is their responsibility to clean-up. You need to explain the requirement to external caterers as this may not be part of their regular service.
- There is no AV equipment provided. Alumni House has Air Trent access.
Please complete the Alumni House Booking Form and email a copy of the completed form to alumni@trentu.ca. You will receive a confirmation via e-mail if we are able to accommodate your booking. You can call Sylvia Hennessy at (705)748-1573 to make some of the arrangements or to confirm that the space is available.
Alumni House has a guest suite suitable for up to two adults. It is available to be booked at a cost of $55.00 at certain times throughout the year. Contact Sylvia Hennessy to check for availability. The guest suite has a double bed, dresser, small fridge and microwave as well as a full ensuite bathroom. Overnight guests may not have exclusive use of the entire Alumni House facility - there are offices that are open during regular office hours as well as pre-booked facility use during the day, on weekends and during evening hours.
